HUSHPUPPIES - James's Grandma Green's recipe
3/4 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. baking powder, heaping
1 med. onion, pureed
1 egg,
Stir the dry ingredients together first, then add the egg and the pureed onion. Stir thoroughly with a fork. Depending on how moist the batter is, you may need to add some liquid, my husband uses a beer if he has one, if not, you can add an additional egg white and mix well.
