Thought for the day

What matters to me in the light of eternity:
1) Knowing that I am setting a godly example for my family.
2) Teaching my children to walk in truth.
3) Training my children in the way they should go.

A lady spoke to us at MOPs one time about the importance of training up our children "in the way they should go". While I can't remember the exact words she used, the gist of it was, that they, like all of us, are like clay, waiting to be molded into what God would have us to be. Our jobs as parents are to keep our "clay" (our children) soft, so that God can mold them into the image of His dear Son. What a scary, wonderful thought. Scary, because it is not easy and we are not perfect, and wonderful, because God desires to use us as parents in this way.

Keep your clay soft and moldable. Is that a word? :)
